History
Club
The History Club was established in 2004 for the
purpose of offering students the opportunity to
engage History Department faculty in meaningful
discussion about a variety of important topics. For
instance, students gain valuable insight as to how
to write articles for publication and how to build a
strong CV. The Club also informs students about
upcoming scholarships and conferences, in addition
to helping students strengthen their applications
for Graduate School. The History Club also allows
students the chance to network with other students
and faculty as well.
The Club meets on a monthly basis, and is open to
all History Major/Minors at Edgewood. The History
Club has an elected President, Vice-President,
Secretary and Treasurer who serve 1-year terms, and
are elected by members of the History Club and the
faculty advisor. Individuals cannot be elected to
the same position more than once.
The responsibilities of the President include
planning and chairing the monthly meetings, as well
as updating the Department web newsletter every
semester with the help of the Vice-President. If the
President is unable to perform their duties, the
Vice-President will assume leadership of the club.
The Treasurer monitors the collection and
distribution of the History Club's finances.
The primary responsibility of the Secretary is to
take minutes at the monthly meetings, and
disseminate the minutes via email to members of the
History Club.
